Climate Interactive is thrilled to announce a new partnership with the Patrick J. McGovern Foundation. Through its generous support, we are excited to further our work on the En-ROADS Climate Solutions Simulator, an interactive climate model co-developed with the MIT Sloan Sustainability Initiative.
The support has already contributed significantly to our ambition in increasing access to data-driven climate insights worldwide through translation of the En-ROADS simulator, and will continue to do so in the coming months. We are excited to announce that as of March of 2022, En-ROADS is now available in Swahili, the 14th language offered to date. In addition, this support will advance more translations of the simulator, as we expect to see Dutch translations later in the year.
In addition, with this support we will broaden and advance the modeling of the land and agricultural sectors of En-ROADS – providing features to the model that further explore the impact of reducing meat consumption, deforestation dynamics, soil carbon, and more later in the year.
In the past two years, Climate Interactive has trained over 400 En-ROADS Climate Ambassadors who are running En-ROADS events in 32 different languages to motivate effective climate action around the world. To date, more than 190,000 people in over 104 countries have experienced the simulator, including more than 125 members of the U.S. Congress.
