At the end of September, Hurricane Helene caused widespread devastation across the southeastern United States, including Asheville, North Carolina, where several members of our small team are based. We are grateful to share that our Executive Director Andrew Jones, Director of Engagement Ellie Johnston, and Director of Operations Danielle San Filippo, along with their families, are safe.

As our staff in Asheville navigates the aftermath of this storm, we remain focused on equipping decision-makers worldwide with the tools they need to address the growing threats of climate change. The increasing frequency of extreme weather events like Hurricane Helene only underscores the urgency of our work.

Below, Executive Director Andrew Jones offers insights into the broader trends behind these intensifying extreme weather events and the role of our work in shaping a more resilient, sustainable future.
